AWESOME Mattress Topper!!!, March 8, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Serenia 4-Inch Memory Foam Combo Topper, Queen (Kitchen) I chose this mattress topper for several reasons, but most of all because it was a good deal in my eyes: it was a double-padded mattress with the top being good quality memory foam, and the bottom being comfortable regular foam. I mean, I did a lot of research before deciding on this mattress topper, and this is the best/thickest I've seen for just over $100 - with other mattress toppers for the $100 range you might get 2 or less inches of regular or low quality foam, but not this mattress topper. You get four inches of mattress topper with the memory foam top thrown in for such a reasonable price!
Now for the other reason I chose this topper in particular: me and my man move a lot, from apartment to apartment or residence since we don't have our own space yet. I wanted a cheap sleeping solution easy to transport that wasn't an air mattress, since he is much heavier than me and I'd end up sleeping in his "dent". Well, I definitely found it. Best bedding purchase, February 18, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Serenia 4-Inch Memory Foam Combo Topper, Queen (Kitchen) First: DON'T buy this if you're trying to "bring new life" into an old, sagging mattress. We bought it to sit on top of a new, replacement mattress -- this time in firm, no pillowtop. I suspect it makes a nicer base for this foam topper than a pillowtop mattress would. Anyway, I can feel the difference in the 4-lb. density from the cheap-o, 2- or 3-lb. ones offered elsewhere. The 4-inch thickness disallows that sort of sagging, as you've got a base to hold you beyond the couple of inches you're sinking in already. My husband and I don't fall into those crevices made in some memory foam, so we don't feel as if we're in two separate beds. There's just the right amount of cradling without being too stiff. I hope it lasts at least a couple of years!

I went to Sears and Bed Bath and Beyond, and I checked out various website offerings. What it all comes down to is "density". The more dense, the better the cushiness without sinking into whatever the topper is laying upon. Many folks from other sites complain of a harsh chemical smell on toppers. This one did have a slight smell, so I left it open for 24 hours and it pretty much went away. I also like this one because it was a combination of foam and memory foam. Our only problem now is that the bed is so cozy that we don't want to get out of it in the morning!
